We don't simply offer horse rides

We create experiences to remember. Discover Mida Creek and the Indian Ocean from an entirely different perspective. Our horseback experiences are private, intimate and intentionally unhurried. Each journey follows carefully selected trails and includes a refreshment stop from The Rock & Sea in a special location along the way, with coffee, tea, fresh juice, water and homemade biscuits.

Because sometimes the most memorable part of a journey is simply stopping in the right place.

The ranch is set on over 3,000 square metres and hosts a limited number of carefully selected horses, so every ride is led by a dedicated guide and matched to the rider.

Good to know

Previous riding experience is not necessarily required for selected routes. Each guest's riding ability is assessed before departure, and the most appropriate experience is recommended. The Iconic Island Experience is only possible under suitable tidal and sea conditions and therefore cannot be guaranteed every day.

Signature horseback experiences

Signature rides

Every ride is private, with a maximum of two guests out at the same time, a guide dedicated to you, and a refreshment stop from The Rock & Sea in a specially selected location along the way.

  • Mangrove Discovery Approx. 1 hour KES 9,000 per person

    Journey through tropical trails and the extraordinary natural environment surrounding Mida Creek. A peaceful ride combining nature, exploration and a scenic refreshment stop along the way.

  • Ocean & Beach Experience Approx. 1 hour KES 9,000 per person

    From the wild trails surrounding Mida Creek to the shores of the Indian Ocean. Ride across tropical landscapes and sandy coastal stretches, with time to slow down and enjoy a specially selected refreshment stop.

  • The Iconic Island Experience Approx. 2 hours KES 14,500 per person

    Our signature ride. When the tides allow, ride through the shallow waters of the Indian Ocean towards a secluded island. Once there, stop for refreshments from The Rock & Sea surrounded by water, nature and silence before continuing your journey on horseback.

    An experience determined by nature, and precisely for that reason, never quite the same twice. Limited availability, strictly subject to tides, sea and weather conditions.

  • Sunset Horseback Experience Approx. 1.5 to 2 hours KES 11,500 per person

    There are sunsets you watch. And sunsets you ride into. Set out in the late afternoon and experience Mida Creek as the landscape changes with the golden light, with a scenic stop for refreshments at one of the most magical moments of the day.

    Departure time varies according to sunset, tides and weather conditions.

Arranged around the occasion rather than the route, and priced for the two of you together.

  • The Romantic Escape for Two Approx. 2 hours KES 35,000 per couple

    Two horses. Two people. One unforgettable journey. A private ride through one of our most beautiful selected routes between Mida Creek and the Indian Ocean, created exclusively for two. Along the way a secluded scenic spot will be waiting for you, carefully prepared by The Rock & Sea team for an intimate pause surrounded by nature.

    Included: an exclusive scenic setup, a chilled bottle of sparkling wine, fresh juice and water, coffee or tea, homemade treats, and time to stop, relax and capture the moment.

    Perfect for honeymoons, anniversaries, proposals and birthdays. Route and setup location are selected according to tides, weather, sea conditions and riding ability.

    Some moments deserve to be created from scratch. Sunrise rides, marriage proposals, honeymoon surprises, private celebrations, photography experiences, special occasions.
